WHAT ARE ADULT DAY CENTRES?
We are a local, not-for-profit service that provides social opportunities within a group setting to frail aged people and people with dementia.
We provide this service to people who are still living in the community – either in their own home or with a carer.

All of our Social Groups encourage independence, fun and friendship. We provide a range of activities such as music; brain games and quizzes; theme days and light exercise.
Which Group a client attends will depend on where they live and what their needs are. Location and suitability of Groups will be discussed fully at assessment.
The Centres operate between 9am and 4pm. Clients are usually picked up from their home between 9:30am and 10:30am and dropped back between
2:30pm and 3:30pm.
Dementia
All of our Groups are inclusive of clients with Dementia. The activities are designed to focus on retaining skills and abilities and to provide care in a setting that is caring and dignified.
Who may use the service?
Generally, our Social Groups are suitable for people over 65 who are frail or aged and live in the community.
Please note that current recipients of Commonwealth Government funded Home Care Packages are not eligible (unless they also hold a Department of Veterans Affairs card).
How do I apply?
If you would like assistance or further information please ring the Bowral Office on (02) 4862 1774.
Initially we will discuss your requirements with you over the telephone and then invite you to attend morning tea (free of charge) with an appropriate Social Group. We will assist you with referral through the My Aged Care system if required.
GOAL SUPPORT Plans
Each person attending our day centres will receive a goal support plan. We will endeavour to offer you a range of services to best meet your needs. With your agreement, we will develop an individual goal support plan which sets out what services you will receive and when.
Reviews are carried out on a regular basis to assess whether your needs have changed. We are also very happy to receive feedback from you regarding your goal support plan.
Meals
We provide morning tea and a hot two-course lunch.
We serve meals that are nutritious, appetizing and suitable for most tastes. We can cater for all dietary requirements. It is important that any special needs such as diabetes and allergies are outlined at the assessment, or as soon as they arise.
Transport
Where possible, we provide transport to and from the groups. We use small, wheelchair accessible buses with well-trained and helpful staff who will ensure your comfort and safety.
Cost
The cost of the day is $15.00 and is payable each time you attend. This includes transport and lunch. We are happy to make special arrangements should this payment present any difficulties for you – we do not turn anyone away on financial grounds. We are also able to invoice monthly in arrears if necessary. We do not charge a cancellation fee.
